The City of Seville

Seville is one of those cities that has practically everything. Here you can take part in history while also experiencing a modernized city whose model of urban development promotes sustainability and quality of life.
Seville is intimately linked to its role in history and to its extensive cultural heritage. What’s more, in the past few years, the city has been transforming itself, creatively blending the value of tradition with generous doses of fresh innovation — all while still maintaining its unique personality, joy, and openness to visitors.
Seville is now an exciting European capital filled with pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, and stylish shops and restaurants. Seville still offers, and in fact has reinvigorated, its exotic and intoxicating culture, which has evolved across 30 centuries of the city’s history.

Seville - An outdoor studio

The city has on average 300 days of sunshine a year, provides a natural light that any director would dream of, and offers spectacular locations, many of which are still undiscovered.
For years, Seville has been the scene of films and series. Many national productions have been filmed in the city, but perhaps the brightest stars in cinematographic Seville are the "Palace of the Kingdom of Naboo", from Star Wars, and the "Palace of the Kingdom of Dorne", from Game of Thrones, or put another way: Plaza de España and the Royal Alcazar of Seville.

Science and Technology Park Cartuja (STP Cartuja)

The Cartuja Science and Technology Park is a key element within the City of Seville and it is the first international example of the reuse of a world exhibition (Expo’92) facility as a connection point between universities, science and business.
STP Cartuja has an essential competitive advantage: it is a Park within the city, very close to the city center and well connected to the airport and railway station. There are 56 buildings inherited from the Universal Exposition and 35 new buildings within the STP.
Its success is reflected in its motto: Innovate, collaborate, grow.
Expo'92 thus led to an exciting project, STP Cartuja, capable of bringing Seville and Andalusia into the economy of the future and the society of knowledge, where human capital and R&D&I are the greatest assets. While the state-owned enterprise invested €630 million in the exposition, the Park’s economic contribution is now around €2,000 million per year.
The project continues to generate wealth based on innovation and cooperation.
STP Cartuja was able to integrate the legacy of Expo'92 with new buildings that defined the future design of the complex. These modern buildings demonstrate our creativity and their construction was based not only on aesthetic criteria, but also on other valuable benefits, such as energy efficiency and sustainability. Although only 33 pavilions were built to be there permanently, 54 buildings remain standing today for their scientific or technological use.

The International University of Andalusia (UNIA) also has a campus here.
Cultural Area: The Park also has a wide cultural offering, including the Andalusian Contemporary Art Centre (CAAC), the Central Theatre, the Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo Foundation and the SGAE (Spanish General Society of Authors and Publishers) and Rocio Jurado auditoriums.
